Chopped or Not

Curious what strangers actually think?

Post one photo. Strangers say fire or meh. That is the whole app.

No names. No messages. No matching. Nobody knows it is you, and you never find out who voted.

How it works

Three steps, then you are done.

There is no feed to maintain, no profile to fill in, and nothing to keep up with. You post once and check back whenever you feel like it.

Take one photo

In the app, right now, with the camera. There is no photo library import, on purpose: it is the one thing that makes it impossible to post a picture of somebody else.

Strangers vote

Your photo goes into the feed. People who have never met you tap fire or meh. Everybody who posts also rates, so the queue keeps moving.

See how you landed

A running count, and a percentage once enough people have answered. Take it down whenever you want, and it stops being shown immediately.

What it is not

Everything a dating app does, this one does not.

These are not features waiting to be built. They are the ones we decided to leave out, because the moment strangers can reach you, honest answers stop being safe to give.

nomessaging. Nobody can contact you.
noprofiles. There is nothing to fill in.
nomatching. Nothing is trying to pair you up.
nocomments. Two buttons, no text box.
noleaderboards. You are never ranked against anyone.
nophoto library. Live camera only, every time.

Your numbers

Who liked it, in aggregate.

The free app gives you the count. A subscription breaks it down: age, gender, ethnicity and state, plus the segment that liked you most.

65%

liked your photos

414 liked, 226 meh

18 to 2472%
25 to 3466%
35 to 4458%
45 plus51%

No percentage is ever shown for fewer than 20 people. A breakdown that describes three people is not a statistic, it is those three people, and you could work out who they were. Anything under the floor is folded into a residual group instead of being published.

Anonymity

Nobody knows it is you, including us.

Your name is never shown, because we never ask for one. Voters see a photo and two buttons. You see totals, never a person. Neither side can reach the other, and there is no version of the app where that changes.

Sign in with Apple or Google. No email and password to leak.
Take it down any time. It leaves the feed immediately.
Delete everything. One tap in Settings, and it is gone for good.

Every photo is checked automatically before anyone sees it. You can report anything in the feed, and reporting removes it from your own feed straight away.
